On the occasion of the establishment of the statue of Buddha at the premises of Bhadra Bandi Prison, a Buddha Puja was organized by BESDEC/Nepal on May 21, 2005 to celebrate the 2549 Buddha Jayanti. The Buddha statue was established on last year with the commune efforts of Bhadra Bandi Jail’s prisoner and the BESDEC/Nepal was also assisted to give the full phase shape of the statue.

President of the Monk Association Acharya Bichhu of Kumar Kasyap Mahasathbir inaugurated the Buddha Puja program and monk Sushil gave a discourse on Buddhism. Similarly, president of BESDEC/Nepal Sumeadh, DSP Mr. Ram Chandra Dhakal and prisoner Mr. Harka Gurung expressed their view. On behalf of the organizer, Mr. Bijay Ratna Tuladhar was given thanks to the all participants.
